Art

Colorful paintings, masks, faceless dolls, jewelry made of amber or larimar (blue stone unique to the Dominican Republic), statues-carved from wood, stone, and coconut shells are all examples of art in the Dominican Republic.
I feel that art is very unique in this country. They use their natural resources such as larimar to create colorful sculptures and carvings.

Music

This country has  mainly traditional music. Merengue is the national music/dance which has an African beat to it. It is fast paced and uses three instruments which are the tambora (small drum), the melodeon (similar to an accordion), and guayano (percussion scraping instrument.) Jazz, North American pop, and Salsa are also popular along with other Latino styles. Discos are found everywhere.
*I think that Dominican Republic music is very unique. It suites the country and it's people well by having many different types of music for many different cultures.
