The Dominican Republic is a Representative Democracy. The parties are the Dominican Revolutionary Party, PLD, and PRCS. They have a president, vice president, 32 senators, 178 deputies, and local officials are elected. Elections are held every four years. Eighteen is the legal voting age but you are not allowed to vote if you are a police, in the military, or in prison. The current president is Leonel Fernandez. Other officials are Foreign Minister, Carlos Morales Troncoso, Ambassador to the United States, Robert Saladin, Ambassador to the United Nations Federico Alverto Cuello Camilo, and Ambassador to the Organizaton of American States, Virgilio Alacantara.

*I believe the government is pretty stable because they know how to take care of their country and they don’t over rule their people like communist countries do.
